Check out the below opportunities to volunteer with

Global Neighborhood!

Volunteer with a Family

Global Neighborhood requires a full calendar year commitment for those interested in volunteering with a refugee family. These volunteers are expected to visit the refugee family at least once every other week, and work to engage in a mutual and genuine relationship with a family. Interested? Please click on the below link and complete the application. You will be contacted via email for an informal interview meeting shortly.

One-On-One ESL Tutoring

Every Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Global Neighborhood offices downtown, volunteers help refugees with their English skills. Worksheets, activities, and conversation topics guide volunteers in teaching the refugees. While ESL experience is not necessary, some experience working with other cultures and/or languages is recommended. Please contact Amy Hendricks, Volunteer Coordinator, at amy@global-neighborhood to notify her of your interest. ESL volunteers should bring a Global Neighborhood Volunteer Background Check Form with them when they come to teach for the first time. Due to the varied numbers in refugees who come to the Global Neighborhood office every week, we may not accept all volunteers interested in this opportunity.
